These terms explain how you can buy and use Mounted, the Mac app for organising and mounting network shares. They are the seller’s terms, not legal advice. Please read them before you buy.
Who we are
Mounted is sold by Salvador Bettencourt Avila, a sole trader trading as Mounted (“we”, “us”), based in the United Kingdom. You can contact us at [email protected].
Buying through Paddle
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle handles payment, invoicing, sales tax or VAT, and customer service enquiries about payments and refunds. Paddle’s Buyer Terms apply to your purchase. We never receive your card details.
The free version and trial
Mounted includes a free version with every feature. You can save as many shares as you like, and two shares can be active at once. There is no group limit.
When you first open Mounted, you get a five-day trial with full functionality and no share limit. After the trial, Mounted continues as the free version unless you buy a licence.
What a licence gives you
- A personal licence for one person, used on one Mac at a time. To move it to another Mac, deactivate it on the first Mac, then activate it on the new one.
- Unlimited active shares.
- 12 months of updates from the date of purchase.
- Permanent use of every version released during your update coverage, even after that coverage ends. Before a version released after your last licence check can use paid features, Mounted needs to confirm your licence online once. After that, the version keeps working offline.
A licence is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription and no automatic renewal. A licence costs £15 at the launch price, which will rise to £20 later. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay, and Paddle calculates any sales tax or VAT.
Mounted runs on Macs with Apple silicon and macOS 15.8 or later.
Extra years of updates
You can optionally buy an extra year of updates for £10, as a one-time purchase. It extends your coverage by one calendar year from whichever is later: the end of your current coverage or the date you buy it. It never renews automatically. If you don’t buy one, you keep using the versions you already have.
Updates
Mounted can check for updates automatically if you allow it, or when you choose Check for Updates. Updates are never installed unless you choose to install them. We may improve, change or stop developing features over time, and we don’t promise that any particular update or feature will be released.
Acceptable use
Your licence is for you. Please don’t:
- resell, share, publish or give away your licence key;
- use one licence on more than one Mac at the same time;
- bypass, disable or tamper with Mounted’s licensing or update checks;
- use Mounted to access network shares you aren’t allowed to use.
If a full refund or chargeback of a licence is completed, its paid features stop the next time Mounted checks the licence online, and Mounted continues as the free version. If a licence key is shared or misused, we may replace it, and the old key will then stop working.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by Paddle. See our Refund Policy for how to ask for one and what happens afterwards.
Lost licence keys
If you lose your licence key, you can recover it by email. We send a single-use code to the email address you used at checkout. Redeeming the code gives you a replacement key, and your old key stops working. If you’ve lost the Mac your licence is active on, recovery can also release that Mac, once every 90 days; after that, contact us to move your licence. If you no longer have access to that address, contact us at [email protected].
Disclaimer
We work hard to make Mounted reliable, but we can’t promise it will be free of errors or work with every server, network or setup. Mounted connects to your network shares. It does not store or back up the files on them, so please keep your own backups.
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for business losses. Our total liability to you in connection with Mounted is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add features or when the law changes. We will post the new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Changes won’t take away rights you already have under a purchase you’ve made.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory laws of the part of the United Kingdom, or the country, where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts.
